Raut questions delay in temple construction

Attacking the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre, Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut sought to know that at a time when the BJP held sway from Rashtrapati Bhawan to Lok Sabha, why there was inordinate delay in passing a law in favour of the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya .

Talking to mediapersons at Ayodhya on Friday, Raut said that the BJP was given four years to construct Ram temple but they did nothing. “Now we will not give any more time and force them to bring about a legislation for the early construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya,” the Sena leader said.

Raut said that before the declaration of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the path for the construction of Ram temple should be cleared.

“What is more intriguing is that when Shiv Sainiks could demolish the controversial Babri mosque in just 17 minutes, why was the Union government taking so long to enact a law even when it enjoys majority in the Lok Sabha and has its man in Rashtrapati Bhawan,” he said.

When told that the BJP and its allies were in minority in Rajya Sabha, Raut said that many parties were in favour of the construction of Ram temple. “Whosoever opposes this legislation will be exposed. Leaders of that party will find it difficult in move across India as Shiv Sainiks will protest against them,” he said.

Incidentally, the statement was made a day before Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is to visit Ayodhya for two days starting Saturday.

Raut said that the visit of Sena chief was confirmed and now the Shiv Sena would not wait any further for Ram temple. “All saints are ready to bless Uddhav Thackeray during his visit to Ayodhya on Saturday,” he said.

Thackeray will be reaching Ayodhya on Saturday and stay there till Sunday. He will meet saints and offer prayers at Ram Lalla temple. Meanwhile, a train load of Shiv Sainiks reached Ayodhya and another train with sainiks would reach the temple town on Saturday.
