Tata Trust chairman Ratan Tata will unveil a development plan for 264 villages under Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency on Monday. Tata Trust has decided to adopt these villages for the development following the efforts of local Telugu Desam MP Kesineni Srinivas, a leading transporter.
The development plan will be unveiled in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Miniser N Chandrababu Naidu and MP Srinivas.
While the Centre had asked every MP to adopt at least one village, Vijayawada MP lobbied hard with the Tata Trust to adopt 264 villages of his constituency at one go, a record of sorts.
Ratan Tata, who is also chairman Emeritus of Tata Group of Industries, will also meet Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday evening in Vijayawada and discuss various other proposals and ideas for the industrial development of the region.
