In a proactive move to prevent waterlogging issues ahead of the monsoon season, Haryana’s Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce, Rao Narbir Singh, conducted an extensive inspection of key locations across Gurugram on Friday. Accompanied by a team of senior officials, the Minister visited 15 sites to assess drainage arrangements and directed officials to expedite ongoing work to ensure the city is monsoon-ready.

The minister began his inspection from his Civil Lines camp office, covering areas such as Rajiv Chowk, MCC Nursery Kadipur, Sector-10A Market, Bahrampur Mor, Begumpur Khatola, Vipul World, Uppal Southend, Vatika Chowk, South City-2A Block, Sector-51, Pocket D Sector-39, Sector-56, and Micro STPs in Sector-43 and at Signature Chowk.

Singh emphasised that the state government is fully committed to ensuring that citizens do not face any inconvenience during the rainy season.

He instructed departments including the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to complete the cleaning of drains on a priority basis and keep all drainage systems fully functional.

Special focus was placed on identifying recurring waterlogging hotspots and making targeted arrangements there. “No negligence will be tolerated,” the minister warned, directing officials to simultaneously prepare long-term strategies to permanently address drainage challenges.

Local residents expressed appreciation for the minister’s on-the-ground involvement and expressed hope for improved conditions this monsoon.

In a related environmental initiative, the environment minister also visited the MCG Nursery in Kadipur, where he planted a rudraksh sapling. Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, he stated, “It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the environment, and tree plantation is a key step toward that goal.” The visit underlines the government’s dual focus on civic preparedness and environmental sustainability as the monsoon season approaches.
