The face of RSS on television channels Prof Rakesh Sinha has donated the entire amount of Rs5 lakh that he received as part of the Deendayal Upadhyay award from President Pranab Mukherjee on May 30.
Sinha said that though he believes that people in public life should avoid taking such awards, yet accepted it because it was in the name of Deendayal ji. “Social and national concerns of Dr Hedgewar, Jayprakash Narayan and Deendayal ji have influenced my life and ideology,” he said.
“I’m donating this money as a humble contribution to those who are still struggling for basic needs in their life,” he said.
