Rajnath's poster tweets create flutter in 33 mins

Pictures of two posters tweeted by BJP president Rajnath Singh sent confusing signals on Monday. On the micro-blogging site, Singh posted an unseen poster starring himself and exhorting “Ab KI Baar, Bhajpa Sarkar (Time for a BJP Government.” This poster was tweeted at 1.17 pm on Monday and did not carry the image of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

However, 33 minutes later, Singh retweeted the official poster of the party with Modi on the forefront bearing the slogan “Ab Ki Baar, Modi Sarkar.”

The slogan is part of a nationwide billboard campaign of the BJP that promises to end price rise and corruption if Modi is voted to power in the Parliamentary polls.

Singh’s first poster was being speculated as course correction amid the party facing barbs over Modi eclipsing all other leaders. But sources close to Singh claimed, the first poster was for his own social platform, not for public release.

While the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh had recently cautioned its cadre month against “chanting NaMo, NaMo”, stressing that no individual is bigger than the organisation, rival parties like Congress have been taking a dig at the BJP having been hijacked by Modi.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh appointed BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar as election-in-charge of Seemandhra and Telangana and Rajpurohit as co-in-charge.
