India and the US will review the entire gamut of their growing defence and strategic ties here on Monday during talks between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin.  The next day, Rajnath will hold discussions here with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

As reported earlier in The Pioneer edition dated May 27, Austin’s visit comes days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the US on June 23.  He is expected to discuss various aspects related to defence issues including access to cutting-edge technology from the US during talks with President Joe Biden.

Prime Minister Modi will also address the joint session of the US Congress.  It extended the invitation to him late Friday to address the Congress on June 22.

Modi will share his vision of India’s future and speak on the global challenges facing the two countries, top Congressional leaders announced.

This will be the second time that Modi will be addressing a joint meeting of the US Congress. He addressed the US Congress during his visit to the US in June 2016.

Meanwhile, giving details of US Defence Secretary and German Defence Minister’s visits, the defence ministry said here on Saturday a host of bilateral defence cooperation issues, with focus on industrial cooperation, are likely to be discussed during the two meetings.
