The Kerala BJP’s pre-poll State march, Vimochana Yatra (liberation March), concluded on Thursday at Thiruvananthapuram with a call by senior leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Keralites to liberate God’s Own Country from the clutches of the Congress-led UDF and CPI(M)-headed lDF which had been ruling the State through an alleged pact of corruption.
“Now that the Vimochana Yatra has reached a grand conclusion, I want to say one thing. Kerala will see its liberation from the UDF and lDF tomorrow if not today and that liberation will come through the BJP,” Rajnath Singh said while inaugurating a rally held at the Poojappura Grounds in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the conclusion of the march.
“Whenever I come to Kerala, the main discussion in public forums here is on corruption,” the Minister said referring to the current controversies over the infamous solar and bar bribery scams. ‘But look at the 20-month rule of the Narendra Modi Government. Has anybody been able to raise even a single charge of corruption against it so farIJ” he asked.
“Some people are worried that an alternative to UDF and lDF is impossible. Some time back, there were people who used to feel that there was no alternative to the Congress in the national level. But that has been proved wrong. If the BJP activists continue their spirited work, a third alternative of the BJP will become a reality here also. So march ahead,” Singh said.
Enumerating the several schemes initiated by the Modi Government for the welfare of the farmers, poor and other sections and for economic and industrial development, the Home Minister said, “The slogan Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is not just a slogan for the BJP but it is our ideology and it reflects our commitment.”
“There should not be even a speck of fear in the minds of any Indian but everybody should feel confident. That is why the NDA Government is so carefully implementing all these schemes… Everybody is speaking of global economic slowdown but we can proudly say that if there is one country that is on the path of rapid economic growth, it is India,” he said.
