Raje for State BJP revamp: Some district chiefs to go

Published on:

In an effort to strengthen the party at middle level of the organisation, some district BJP presidents are likely to be replaced in the coming days.

According to BJP sources, State party president Vasundhara Raje is not happy with some district party presidents. She is of the view that changes are needed to rebuild the organisation in these districts ahead of the Assembly elections, which are only a few months away.

Recently, the Barran district party president was removed as he did not actively participate in the Suraj Sankalp Yatra. In some other districts, situation was similar and party heads there did not make much efforts to mobilise the people for the yatra. Sources said the party heads in these districts are belonging to the anti-Raje camp.

During her yatra, Raje discussed the situation with her confidants, who were of the view that some drastic action was needed in certain districts  to revamp the organisation.

Sources said that before taking such drastic measure Raje wants to discuss the issue with the Central party leaders. During the Goa meet, she would get the opportunity to talk to the party leaders on this issue. To maintain her yatra schedule, Raje may cut short her Goa visit and would return to Jaipur on June 8 itself, sources said.
