Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore on Thursday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to foment unrest in the country and alleged that foreign forces were seeking to undermine India's stability amid its growing global influence.

In a statement, Rathore claimed that certain individuals and groups were being mobilised through foreign funding to disrupt India's development and stability. He said the activities of Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and some of his associates raised questions about their intentions.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rathore questioned their participation in protests alongside AISA leader Neha Bora, whom he accused of presenting the protests in Bangladesh as a model to emulate.

He alleged that Rahul Gandhi was attempting to create an atmosphere of anarchy under the pretext of protecting democracy.

Rathore further claimed that certain foreign powers were uncomfortable with India's growing influence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cautioned against attempts to undermine the country's unity and development.

He, however, said allegations of foreign interference or anti-national activities should be investigated impartially to establish the facts.

Turning to state politics, the Rajasthan BJP chief alleged that differences between former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra had exposed internal divisions within the opposition party.

He attributed the Congress' electoral setbacks to infighting and expressed confidence in the BJP's performance in the upcoming panchayat elections.
