Raj Babbar attacks CM; questions him on development in State

State Congress president Raj Babbar attacked the Samajwadi Party Government and CM Akhilesh Yadav for taking out a ‘Vikas Rath Yatra’ to highlight his Government’s achievements.

“Akhilesh Yadav’s Vikas Yatra Rath ended at lohia Path,” said Babbar while reacting to the start of the CM’s road show from la Martinere College ground on Thursday morning.

Party’s media cell chairman, Satyadeo Tripathi claimed that the truth about much publicised ‘Vikas Rath Yatra’ is before everyone to see. “What kind of development took place during Akhilesh regime so far, is evident from the lawlessness prevalent in the State,” Tripathi pointed while saying the Akhilesh Yadav failed to make any impact.

Interestingly, Babbar’s statement provided some relief to senior Congress leaders who were agitated with poll strategist Prakash Kishor aka PK’s move of forming a ‘Mahaghatbandhan’ in UP on the linesof Bihar. “Noone else but only senior leaders could talk on coalition issue. So, I don’t find anything serious on the issue,” reacted Raj Babbar while replying to a querry on a possible pact with SP and others parties.

Babbar said that he met general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday and discussed the poll strategy but at no point of time did Azad hint that the High Command was mulling over a possible alliance with other like-minded parties.

“Neither anyone has been authorised by the party to talk with other parties for an alliance nor leader of other parties have come up with any offer,” Babbar told media persons in lucknow on the sidelines of Congress candle march protest at the GPO  Park over the death of ex-Army man in New Delhi over the issue of OROP.

Babbar also denied that there was any talk between Congress UP in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad and JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav on alliance.
