Hitting hard on corruption, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police on Friday raided premises of officials from State mining department and seized crores of rupees in cash and several movable and immovable properties. The EOU officials also searched premises of an RJD leader and found huge cash.
While monitoring on feedbacks against the State mine department senior official Jhakhri Ram and department Inspector Birendra Yadav for long the EOU officials raided their premises at 11 places simultaneously and seized crores of rupees in cash.
“We have raided house of Ram in Patna and other places and recovered huge cash and other documents related to his properties worth crores of rupees”, said EOU Superintendent of police Ashok Kumar Singh. The tainted official Jhakhri Ram is posted in Sheikhpura district as mineral development officer.
