On October 29, two days prior to the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is set to visit Ahmedabad.
Visits of top leaders would work as morale booster for Congress workers in Gujarat, said a senior a Congress MP from Gujarat adding, “In the last few months the Congress faced a series of defeats in by-elections ranging from lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and even in municipalities and panchayats. Especially the visit of Rahul would help to connect youth in the State with the party,” said a Congress leader.
According to Gujarat Congress spokesman Manish Doshi, Gandhi will host a series of meetings with office-bearers of district and block Congress committees after paying a visit to Sabarmati Ashram on October 3.
He will also attend the national executive of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and later on he would meet elected members of local self-Government institutions.
“An informal session with select media personnel has also been arranged in the evening,” said Doshi.
