Rahul: I'll keep on questioning PM

Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attacking him personally, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that he will keep on asking questions to the Prime Minister in Parliament irrespective of the personal attack on him by the Prime Minister.

Gandhi said this while addressing a public rally at Silchar in Assam’s Barak Valley today and added that it is the Congress Government in Assam, who can bring in development to the Barak valley and other parts of Assam.

“I have asked some questions to the Prime Minister. Yesterday the Prime Minister replied in the parliament for more than one hour. He attacked me personally, read out quotes of Indira ji and Rajiv ji, but failed to give answers to my questions,” said Gandhi while addressing the rally in Silchar.

later, Gandhi also addressed another rally in Nagaon district of Assam and launched an attack on the BJP and the RSS and said that the similar force, who were after Rohit Vemulah and Kanhaiya Kumar has filed a case against him charging him with sedition. “They call me traitor but two members of my family have scarified their lives. Nationalism is in my blood. Prime minister is not country and country is not Prime Minister,” said Gandhi. “People who fight for the poor and weaker section are branded as traitors and people who work for the rich and industrialists become patriots,” he said.

The AICC leader also twisted the ‘achche din’ slogan of the BJP and said that the ‘achche din’ will come only after 2019. “Achche din will come but it will come only after 2019. However, you do not need to worry as we have already started working on it,” he said.

The AICC leader also launched a scathing attack on the BJP and RSS and said that both the BJP and RSS has been trying to impose one ideology on the people of the country. “Congress feels that there should be place for everyone in the country and that everyone can have their own opinion. On the other hand the BJP and RSS want to impose one ideology on everyone. They want to run the Government from the PMO or from Nagpur. We feel that the people here should run the Government,” he said.

“I remember 15 years back, there was unrest in Assam-bloods spilled, and there were tears. The Congress came to power and it bring peace and security and that is the biggest success of the Congress party. In Haryana, there was peace under the Congress Government’s rule and the State was prospering. However, within one and half years of BJP’s coming to power in Haryana, they set it on fire…people are fighting against each other. This is what the BJP do. They do it in everywhere-be it in Assam, Maharastra, Haryana everywhere-wherever they come to power,” he said.

Gandhi assured the people of Barak Valley of improving the connectivity to the region and said that the AICC will send its manifesto committee to Barak valley so that the issues can be put in the Congress manifesto. “While Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi led Government here will work locally, all the Congress MPs will pressurise the Central Government in New Delhi for improving the connectivity in the Barak Valley,” he said.
