Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who hailed the development as a big win for students, said the Narendra Modi Government is “on the back foot” after the ban was lifted from a students’ group. “Ban-friendly Modi Sarkar on back foot. IIT Study Circle ban lifted. Big win for students,” Rahul said in a tweet. DMK also hailed the IIT Madras’ decision to revoke the ban on a students’ body and claimed it was Opposition from political parties which has led to the decision.
