Attacking the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government over the black money and loan defaulters issue, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that while the Modi Government failed to bring back the black money stashed abroad, it has brought the ‘Fair & lovely’ scheme through which the black money could be converted to white easily.
“Modiji promised that he would bring back black money. Although he could not bring back black money, the Government has brought the new Fair and lovely scheme through which any thief or gunda in the country could easily turn their black money into white,” said Gandhi while addressing a rally in Digboi in Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
“If the Government is sincere on black money why Vilay Mallya and lalit Modi are still out of the countryIJ Vijay Mallya even met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Parliament before escaping the country,” said Gandhi.
“lalit Modi is a symbol of black money and he is still out of the country. Modiji never utters a single word against them,” Gandhi alleged.
The AICC leader said that the BJP and RSS want to make every Indians fight against each other. “Wherever they (BJP & RSS) go, they make people fight. Haryana was a peaceful State for a long time. However, one month after BJP Government formed, violence started in the State. They want to do the same thing in Assam as well,” he said.
He also slammed the Central Government for curtailing the Special Category status from Assam and reduced the funding for developmental schemes.
Hailing the efforts of Congress Government in Assam, Gandhi said that there have been subsequent development in Assam since the Congress came to power. “It took time. But while it only takes a minute to destroy it takes time to build. That is what Congress Government did in Assam,” he said.
