At a time when RJD boss lalu Prasad’s lok Sabha membership is disqualified, his wife Rabri Devi on Tuesday dared Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to stop Narendra Modi from entering into Bihar for Hunkar Rally on October 27. Rabri also said her party would be looking to have an electoral alliance with the Congress party.
“Does Nitish Kumar has guts to stop Narendra Modi from entering into Bihar like her husband lalu Prasad had stopped lK Advani’s rath yatra in 1990IJ,” challenged Rabri Devi. She also took a dig at Nitish Kumar saying that he was having an alliance with the BJP for the last 17-years but now he is showing his aversion with Narendra Modi. “Nitish Kumar has now been exposed and the people of Bihar have known his political character”, said Rabri Devi to a section of mediapersons who visited her residence.
When asked about the impact of Prasad’s disqualification on party’s political future, former Bihar Chief Minister said there would be no impact on party’s future. “Everyone in the State and the Party know that he is being falsely implicated in the case under political conspiracy and sent to jail. He will soon be bailed out and the party is united to appear into the upcoming general poll headlong,” she further added.
“We’ve full faith in judiciary and he will come out of jail soon..there is no question of his not being able to contest in the election for the next 11 years..it will be looked after later”, she said exuding confidence on her face. Visibly she also took pride in her Husband taking on the BJP leader lal Krishna Advani’s rath yatra and arrested him on October 23, 1990 at Samastipur. “At that time he did it for secularism and if Nitish Kumar claims to be secular let him stop Narendra Modi from entering Bihar”, said Rabri Devi.
On question of her party’s poll alliance with the the Congress, Rabri Devi, like a seasoned politician said that her party is open for an alliance with all secular parties, including Congress, to defeat the communal forces. “We made a mistake in 2009 but will not repeat it in 2014 and have a seat adjustment with the Congress, lok Janshakti Party and all like minded parties”, said Rabri Devi.
She also hit out at BJP saying that the hype of Narendra Modi would fizzle out soon and has no impact at all in Bihar. “People of Bihar will give them a proper reply in the coming election. In the name of Narendra Modi only a hype has been created by the BJP and the bubble will burst at the time of election”, she added.
The former Chief Minister was not done and attacked Nitish for the acquittal of all 26 accused persons in lakshmanpur Bathe massacre in which 58 dalits were slaughtered by the members of Ranvir Sena. “Nitish Kumar should answer the people that if all the accused acquitted by Patna High Court were innocent then who killed the innocent dalitsIJ”, asked Rabri Devi.
She also took dig at Nitish Kumar for terming the mid-day meal tragedy in Chhapra, in which 23 school children were killed, as “political conspiracy”. Citing the chargesheet filed by the police against the school principal and her husband, she asked the JDU chief how they had earlier accused RJD for the incidentIJ Earlier on Monday the Bihar Chief Minister had emphatically said that he had never expressed any political conspiracy at that time into that “unfortunate incident”. “I never ever made any statement like this”, said Nitish Kumar.
