Quiz Didi like Mukul: BJP to CBI

Published on:

BJP has demanded immediate questioning of Mamata Banerjee in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund case. Demanding Bengal Chief Minister’s grilling by CBI, BJP central observer for the State Siddharth Nath Singh on Tuesday said there could be no two yardsticks for Banerjee and her party’s stated second in command Mukul Roy who was summoned for questioning.

“Mukul Roy was present in the meeting in Dello” bungalow at Kalimpong in Darjeeling district “along with Mamata Banerjee and Sudipto Sen which he has publicly admitted” the BJP MP said reasoning “Mukul was rightfully summoned by the CBI. If he could be summoned for being present in the said meeting then by same law Mamata Banerjee should also be summoned.”

When asked whether his prediction of “Bhag Mukul Bhag” in 2015 would still come true particularly after Roy’s cooperation with the CBI in the ongoing investigations Singh said “See what happens. I said so in 2014 and it is only beginning of February now. About 11 months are still left in this year.” The BJP leader said he was going to drag Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee who is also the Chief Minister’s nephew to court for his defamatory speeches against him in public.

“I had sent a notice each to Kalyan Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee. While the one given to Kalyan Banerjee has returned as ‘not found’ Abhishek has given a reply and now my lawyers have advised me to file a civil and criminal defamation against him which I am going to do” Singh said.

Both the Trinamool leaders had attacked Singh publicly allegedly denigrating the name of his grandfather and late Prime Minister lal Bahadur Shastri. lashing out at the Trinamool Congress for communalising Bengal the BJP leader said “Mamata Banerjee and her Government is polarising politics in Bengal by playing the dirty card of communal politics in the State. This must be stopped.”

Attacking the Chief Minister for asking her party leaders with erstwhile naxalite affiliation to “ask your men to descend on the streets” against the BJP Singh wondered how a Chief Minister who was spending crores in making pompous shows like Bengal Global Summit to bring investment on one hand could ask the disrupting elements and naxalites to descend on the streets on the other. The BJP had recently upped the ante in Bengal and had almost taken over the main Opposition’s place displacing the left Front.
