Congress vice-president talking to mediapersons here at the Amausi airport on Wednesday afternoon after winding up his three-day visit to Amethi, continued his criticism on the BJP Government claiming that only 5-6 industrialists have benefited by this Government while the others including farmers and common people are facing the trouble. The Congress leader again raked up the biased attitude of the Centre as well as the UP Government over the backwardness of Amethi.
“Today I chaired a meeting of the Amethi district vigilance and monitoring committee where representatives of all the political parties said that the Governments were biased towards the region. Whether it is PMSY, MGNREGA or Indira Awas, the Amethi area has been neglected,” he said. Gandhi said that Centre was taking revenge against me.” I want to convey to the Centre that if they want to take revenge then they should take against me and not with the people of Amethi,” he said while again raked up the Mega Food Park issue. Repeating his allegation of “suit-boot ki sarkar”, Rahul asserted that the present government is not that of poor and farmers. “I want to repeat what I said in Parliament...this government is not for the poor, farmers and weaker people but of selected industrialists, a handful of those who are near the Prime Minister and all their works are being done,” he said. “Farmers are cyring, they are not getting compensation for (losses due to) hailstorm, not getting right price for their produce, got lathis when they asked for fertilizers,” he said.
