Strong protests rocked Chinore area of Jammu on Sunday afternoon before the burial of deceased youth, Syed Murfad Shah, allegedly shot dead inside the ‘fortified’ residence of former Chief Minister and National Conference MP Dr Farooq Abdullah in Bhatindi area of Jammu on Saturday.

According to the police, Shah had rammed his ‘high speed’ XUV 500 on one of the VIP gates of Dr Farooq Abdullah’s residence on saturday morning before ‘forcibly’ barging inside the house of Z plus protectee.

To contain public anger the State Government had ordered Magisterial inquiry in the matter late Saturday night. The inquiry will be conducted by SDM, North, Jammu. On the other hand family members sunday demanded judicial probe to ensure free and fair inquiry in the matter.

Meanwhile, the residence of Murfad Shah witnessed emotional reunion of closed relatives as they got together to bid final farewell to their loved one.

Since morning large number of mourners had started gathering outside the residence of Murfad Shah braving sultry weather conditions.

As the funeral procession started from their residence in Chinore area large number of people from different walks of life joined them chanting religious slogans.

Instead of going inside the graveyard some of the community members diverted the funeral procession and blocked the traffic on the Chinore-Janipur road seeking justice for the family of the deceased. large number of women also joined the protests and staged sit in for over three hours in the middle of the road.

Shouting anti government slogans members of the community joined family members and also accused the state police over shielding the real culprits behind the mysterious killing of their loved one.

Puncturing holes in the police version of the entire episode,Majid Hussain, cousin of Murfad Shah told The Pioneer,  “a close look at the main gate and the XUV clearly exposes the ‘white lies’ peddled by the police and CRPF officers.

He said the gate of the VVIP residence is located in the middle of the small stretch on both sides of the ‘S’ shaped road link. Therefore,it is not possible for any driver to pass through the area in high speed especially during uphill drive.

Secondly the XUV and the gate had minor abrasions and not big dents despite suffering ramming at high speed.

“Why none of the mirrors were broken or bumper of the XUV suffered heavy damages”, he asserted.
