The students’ community in Hyderabad continues to mount pressure on the Minister of State Bandaru Dattatreya to accept moral responsibility for the suicide of Dalit research scholar Rohith Vemula and resign.
For second consecutive day on Wednesday a group of agitating students tried to lay a siege to the residence of Dattatreya in Ramnagar area of Hyderabad demanding his resignation. Police said students belonging to All India Students Federation held a protest demonstration at the minister’s residence. The police took nearly 30 students in to custody.
