Prosecutor seeks Salman's conviction in hit-and-run case

Resting its case against Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case re-trial, the Prosecution on Thursday sought conviction of the actor for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, on the ground that he was under the influence of alcohol, driving rashly, that too without a licence, that he had prior knowledge of the area and that knew full well any error on his part would harm others.

Summing his final arguments in the case in the trial court of Additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande, Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said: “Evidence on record shows that the accused actor was under the influence of liquor, driving a car without a licence, driving rashly and had prior knowledge of the place and also he had knowledge that his act could harm others”.
