Sending out a tough message to the sympathisers of terrorist outfits across Kashmir valley the Jammu & Kashmir police on Thursday warned the immovable properties used to provide shelter to terrorist commanders will be attached under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The twitter handle of Srinagar police also warned local residents against providing shelter or harbouring terrorists/terror associates who assemble at one place to execute terror plots targeting security personnel.

To begin with, the process of attachment of properties has been started from Srinagar district.

"Process has started for attachment of some immovable properties which have been used for the purpose of militancy as per section 2(g) & 25 of ULP Act. Don’t give shelter or harbour militants / associates. Legal action will be supplemented by property attachments as per law,” tweeted Srinagar police.

SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal said  “Houses where encounters took place, houses where terrorists took shelter and planned attacks on security forces and civilians will be attached".

In the recent months the central kashmir district has witnessed series of terror strikes involving 'hybrid' terrorists.

These terrorists, according to local policemen, were using safe houses in residential colonies for their regular meetings and took shelter after targeting the security personnel. In the recent weeks the police teams have exposed several terror modules and arrested Over ground workers operating from their safe hideouts to keep the terror pot boiling.

“So far in 2020-21, over a dozen such houses have been identified in downtown, Pantha Chowk, Soura, Batamaloo, Nowgam, Harwan etc.”
