Problem of Naxalism due to social disparity: Paswan

Union Minister and lok Janshakti Party (lJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Sunday blamed social disparity for the problem of naxalism and made a strong pitch for reservation in private sector and judiciary.

“Gun is not the solution to the problem but we should also not forget there is social disparity in the background of those who are wielding the gun today,” the lJP chief said while addressing a three-day conference of Dalit Sena for southern States that began on Sunday. Paswan said that when people fail to get anything from non-violent means, doors of violence open.

“The Dalits, who were once treated as untouchables, are not ready to tolerate any injustice and persecution. They are ready to break but not bend. If Dalits do not become part of mainstream, the nation can never be strong,” he said.
