The mortal remains of two senior officials killed in Saturday’s mishap at Kalbadevi were consigned to flames on Sunday, even as Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta ordered an enquiry into the circumstances leading to the fire and collapse at Gokul Niwas building in south Mumbai. The bodies of the two deceased fire officers --S W Rane and M M Desai – were kept for public darshan at the city fire brigade headquarters at Byaculla, where Mumbai Mayor Sneha Ambedkar and BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta laid wreaths at the mortal remains of the two senior officers.
