Priyanka on 3-day UP visit

In the wake of complaints of party workers and volunteers about the long gap after her last visit as also the demand from them that she should come to the State, newly-appointed Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi will be on a three-day Uttar Pradesh visit, starting Friday.

Priyanka is likely to hold a series meetings with the incharges and coordinators of Eastern UP region of which the party has bestowed her responsibility.  Interestingly, Priyanka’s visit coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state for holding rallies and inaugurating projects in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls. Modi represents the Varanasi Parliamentary constituency of which Priyanka has the mandate to look for her party.

“She will also take the feedback from the volunteers whom she had tasked with certain roles. She had created an intelligence unit to gather information from booth level so that next course of action be undertaken,” said the party sources.
