President Pranab Mukherjee, who will be spending almost a fortnight in Hyderabad as part of his southern sojourn at the Rashtrapati Nilayam, will participate in the “Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam” of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
The administration was pulling out all the stops to deck up the Rashtrapati Nilayam building in Bolarum for the stay of the first citizen. This is second time that Mukherjee will be staying at the sprawling second home of the President.
During his stay in the city the President will be attending several programmes including convocation of Military College of Electronic and Medical Engineering and a meeting Indian Economic Association but the Yagam of KCR will be the highlight of his programme.
KCR has invited many prominent political figures to his five-day long Yagam including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While President has accepted the invite there was no response from the Prime Minister’s Office as yet.
Other notables at the mega “spiritual event” involving 4,000 vedic pundits and others chanting the hymns, were likely to be the Governors of Tamil Nadu and Andhra-Telangana K Roshaiah and ESl Narasimhan and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.
