In pursuit of establishing an administration 'of the people, by the people, for the people', Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, just a day after taking oath for his second consecutive term, directed officials to be accountable towards the people of the State.
In a meeting with Government officials in Lucknow on Saturday, the Chief Minister asked all departments to prepare action plans for the next 100 days, six months and a year.
The officials will present the action plans to the council of ministers, according to the department-wise timetable, which will be announced soon.
At the high-level meeting organised at Yojana Bhawan, Yogi said: "It is really important that all officers memorise every point of the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party for the UP Assembly election and start working towards achieving the goals."
The chief minister even commended officials saying that they made sincere efforts to convert all the promises of BJP's 2017 Lok Sankalp Patra into reality. “As a result, people experienced a positive change in Uttar Pradesh after decades,” he said.
Yogi further added, "It is my target to make Uttar Pradesh the No 1 state in the country and the state's economy the No 1 economy. The roadmap for the future should be prepared with teamwork and inter-departmental coordination. For this, 'Team UP' will have to be engaged with full commitment."
The chief minister also pointed out that to make the state a $1-trillion-economy, ten primary sectors had to be identified. Yogi said to ensure proper functioning and implementation of all sectors and schemes, the chief secretary would hold weekly reviews while he himself would hold fortnightly reviews.
Emphasising on efficiency, transparency and punctuality in the functioning of the government, the chief minister expressed the need to enhance inter-departmental coordination along with technology for the better implementation of schemes. While instructing officials to be sensitive towards the citizens, he said, "Our government is determined for 'Antyodaya'. You must ensure that villages, poor, farmers, women, and youth are at the centre of every policy of the government."
"In the first term, our main challenge was deep-rooted malpractices. But we succeeded in establishing good governance in the last five years. In the next five years, our competition will be with the works of our first term.
Now, our competition with ourselves will start to further strengthen good governance. In such a situation, the establishment of good governance will have to be carried forward with more strength," Yogi said.
The chief minister added that his government has had a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption since its inception and it should be effectively continued.
"In order to make the reach of the government schemes more widespread, technology should also be included on a large-scale," he said.
