In a major drag race using three cars three teenagers involved in a predawn race on Sunday on the Hosur Road Elevated Express way in Bengaluru went awry killing a teenager who was driving a Skoda. The teenagers borrowed the cars from the parents and in the pile up killing 17 year old Arfan Salim from a private college who was beheaded as his sedan grazed against median and died on the spot.
Other two boys his friends Anirudh K, and Srinvas G, both 16 years old -survived miraculously without injuries in two other cars as the airbags helped them to survive.In the pile up the skoda hit the milkvan which toppled on the impact. Many CC tv cameras have recorded this horrible incident.
Deputy Commissioner of police (traffic-east) Abhishek Goyal said the accident occurred around 3am on Sunday when the cars were racing down the ramp of the expressway towards Madiwala. "The boys were speeding at over 150kmph," he said. "They come from affluent families.
