Motivated by the sincerity of the State police personnel who left no stone unturned to recover buffaloes of the Cabinet Minister at the earliest, a senior IPS officer requested police to help him recover his son's stolen bicycle and his lost money.

IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who is also a social activist, said that the recovery of seven buffaloes of senior Minister Azam Khan within 36 hours and action against three policemen for dereliction of duty in Rampur, has enthused him to write to the SSP lucknow to get his son's cycle, which was stolen from his house in December 2011 and Rs 6,000 was swindled from him by a political leader Manoj Tiwari from Gonda in the name of immediate need for mother's treatment in September 2013, recovered at the earliest.

In the letter, Thakur requested that Rampur incidence made it clear that police can act at alarming speed. But while registering of FIR, no policeman ever came to his residence for investigation and no action was taken in cheating case despite naming accused.

Hence, he has requested the SSP to direct the local police to either recover cycle and money immediately or to act against them.

Meanwhile, abuse hurled and maltreatment meted out to her, social activist Nutan Thakur, wife of Amitabh Thakur, sought action and adequate security in the campus of lucknow Bench of Allahabad HC.

Nutan claimed that while some of the advocates abused her outside Court No 2, many of them threatened Thakur at gate No 3 of the lucknow campus where she and another advocate assembled. She claimed that the advocated threatened her with dire consequences and said that they would not tolerate any outsider to enter in their matter and would stop her entry on the High Court premises. She could be taken to her vehicle with great difficulty by the campus security personnel.

Thakur claimed to have sent a report of this episode to the Chief Justice of India and the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court asking for complete security in the campus as she regularly appears in the Court in many PIls. She has also presented a FIR before the Wazirganj police station and has presented a complaint to the DGP, UP.

As per the PIl filed by Nutan, she claimed that the abrupt transfer of Justice Dr Satish Chandra without any enquiry in the allegations of misbehaviour, merely as a result of the lawyer's agitation is incorrect and will set bad precedence, hence it needs to be quashed.
