The lie detection test of the five accused in the Badaun rape-cum-murder case has confirmed their earlier claims of innocence even as reports of other scientific tests from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad are awaited.
“The polygraph test of the five arrested accused did not find any deviation from their earlier claim of innocence but the reports received so far do not prove anything conclusively and the agency’s investigation will continue,” a senior CBI official said. “The statement of five accused persons claiming innocence was found to be correct in the polygraph test,” the official said.
Reports like forensic and psychological assessment tests of the accused have also been received and the same are being analysed. However, other reports of scientific tests like DNA fingerprinting and forensics are awaited from Forensic Science laboratory, Ahmedabad (FSl) and Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad (CDFD). These reports are expected to take the course of the probe forward, the official said.
lie detection test reports of the four family members of the victims are yet to be received. Although the lie detection test reports are per se not admissible as evidence in a court of law but they help in corroborating evidences gathered from other sources, officials said.
