BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi claimed that all the calculations and predictions by the political pundits about the election results will be proved wrong as the country was witnessing a tsunami against the Congress and its allies.
Addressing a massive election rally “NDA Shankharavam” at lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, Modi said that this was extraordinary elections which were not being fought by the political parties or candidates. “These elections are being fought by the 125 crore people of the country for their aspirations,” he said.
Political pundits were relying on arithmetic to calculate but these elections are about the chemistry, he said. “In arithmetic Modi plus Pawan Kalyan plus Babu will be three but in chemistry there are 111,” he said.
Seeking outright rejection of the Congress and support for the BJP-TDP alliance in Andhra Pradesh, Modi said that throughout the history Congress and Nehru-Gandhi family had not given any thing to Telugu people except insult and humiliation to their leaders. He recounted former CM T Anjaiah, former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and former President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy among the Telugu leaders were insulted by their family.
“If Sardar Patel was not there, we would have required a visa to come to Hyderabad. But he too was humiliated by the family”, he said.
Taking a dig at the Congress Government as “Maa Bete Ki Sarkar” (Government of mother and son), Modi said, that country did not get any thing but corruption and plundering of resources from them.
He promised to bring back the black money from abroad. “I will do my best to bring back the wealth which belongs to the poor and use it for their welfare,” he said. Modi said that he will pass a legislation and sign accords with other countries.
For the salary class, he promised that he will refund the taxes paid by using the black money brought back from abroad.
The rally in Hyderabad was the biggest of the four rallies Modi addressed in Telangana on Tuesday. It was also addressed by film star Pawan Kalyan and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Naidu ridiculing the idea of Third Front Government at the Centre said that of the four non-Congress coalition Government at the Centre, three were made possible by the Telugu Desam party. “It was NTR who was architect of National Front Government of VP Singh. United Front and NDA were also formed because of the support of Telugu Desam”, he said adding that one again NDA Government will be formed with the support of TDP.
However the crowd was comparatively less excited when Naidu spoke but the stadium rocked with the cheers during Modi’s address.
