Panic triggered in Noida’s posh Sector 18 market complex when a pipeline supplying Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to the area burst on Wednesday afternoon. PNG kept leaking for nearly 20 minutes posing a threat to the congested commercial sector and its occupants. However, the situation was brought under control after the supply was switched off by the authorities. No casualties were reported.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 2.15 pm when a bulldozer involved in digging work in the area caused the pipe to burst. The bull-dozer was allegedly involved in the revamp work being undertaken in the area. The busted pipe was located nearby. Soon a crowd gathered and the Indraprastha Gas limited officials were informed. The pipe repaired and supply was restored a little later.
