The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has allegedly asked for a detailed report on the violence that took place after ‘Maha Kranti Rally’ of Patel community for OBC quota.

According to sources, the report to be prepared by Intelligence Bureau, will also contain activities of political leaders during the violence from August 25 to 28.

The report will also have detailed information right from the first rally of Patel community organised in the North Gujarat town of  Mahesana in July’s first week.

“The report would have information on Patel reservation stir for the past two months — post ‘Maha Kranti Rally’ violence. Information on masterminds of these rallies as well as those behind the curtain are also being gathered as the Patel reservation stir episode has been taken seriously,” said an official source with the Gujarat IB.

The report has great significance, said that source, maintaining that basis on it Gujarat may witness some important political changes in future in wake of 2017 Assembly elections. “The State will be in election mode right from mid 2016,” he added.

After a daylong visit to New Delhi Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS), convener Hardik Patel returned to Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon. He was there to attend an important meeting with Gurjars, Jat and Kurmi leaders to chalk out plans to take the stir a step ahead. He, however, remained silent and said that future programs to take the agitation to next level would be declared only after consulting with core committee of PAAS.

According to PAAS spokesman Chirag Patel, though the agitation got great support from across the country, as of now it would be focused in Gujarat. He claimed that Gurjar and Kurmi leaders assured their wholehearted support to Patel agitation during the meeting at Delhi on Sunday.
