PM slams Cong-left adjustment politics in Kerala

The Congress-led UDF and the CPI(M)-led lDF which have ruled Kerala so far have been insulting the educated people of the State with their politics of adjustment, compromise and contract, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday.

“A new model of politics has come up in Kerala. It is the politics of adjustment, politics of compromise, politics of corruption and politics of contract to save each other between the Congress and the communists,” Modi said in Kasaragod while embarking on the second leg of his high-voltage campaign for the BJP-NDA for the May 16 Assembly elections.

“What we have been seeing in Kerala is a rule by contract between the Congress and the left. They come to a contract between them by which ‘You rule for five years and we will rule for the following five years. Then you can come back for another five years and so on’. Should the educated voters of Kerala give approval to this adjustment politicsIJ” Modi asked.

“This election is not about who will win or who will rule but it is to determine who will save Kerala. It is about who will give jobs to Kerala’s youths and who will secure their future,” Modi said at Kasaragod in the first of the three rallies he addressed in the State on Sunday. In the third leg of his campaign tour of Kerala, he will address a rally near Kochi on Wednesday.

Taunting the Congress and CPI(M) for their electoral understanding in West Bengal and rivalry in Kerala, the Prime Minister said, “Isn’t West Bengal in IndiaIJ Isn’t Kerala in IndiaIJ The Congress and the communists are doing Gusti in Kerala and but they are doing Dosti in West Bengal.”

“The communists attack the Congress in Kerala for their corruption and other things but in West Bengal the left describes them as a great party. In Kerala, the Congress attacks the Marxists in the name of the politics of murder they are pursuing, but the same party would say in West Bengal that communists alone can save that State,” Modi said.

“Should the educated people of Kerala trust the same people who speak in two languages in two places at the same timeIJ” Modi, who had started his campaign tour for this election in Palakkad on Friday, asked. The Prime Minister carried out equally vehement attacks against the two fronts in two other rallied on Sunday in Kuttanad in Alappuzha district and Thiruvananthapuram.

Seeking votes for the BJP-NDA candidates in the State, the Prime Minister highlighted the various welfare and development schemes the Centre had initiated in the past two years. He said his Government’s dream was to ensure that the income of Indian farmers doubled by 2022, the 75th year of Indian Independence.

Holding the CPI(M) responsible for destroying Kerala with its politics of violence, he said a Marxist leader alleged to have had direct involvement in the murder of a young man was being projected as the next Chief Minister. Modi also introduced to the audience C Sadanandan Master, a BJP candidate who had lost both legs in a Marxist attack.

The Prime Minister enumerated the situations like the Yemen and Iraq crises for proving how the Centre had shared Kerala’s pain and found solutions effectively. However, the UDF Government in Kerala did nothing when a poor Dalit law student was raped and murdered brutally on April 28, he alleged.

“If Kerala’s future is to be secure, corruption and violence have to end and development should dawn, the BJP’s politics of development should come… History will be created in this election. The BJP will determine the future of Kerala by winning this election,” the Prime Minister said.

“We have only one dream, Creation of a prosperous, safe, clean and corruption-free Kerala. For that the BJP-NDA’s victory is vital. let us move ahead with the NDA for ourselves and for tomorrow,” he said, as the tens of thousands of party workers and supporters gathered at the venue in Kasaragod received the call with thundering applause.
