Skipping his daily morning Yoga session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday prior to the Vibrant Gujarat 2017 inauguration ceremony made it a point  to meet his nonagenerian mother Heeraben.

Just like his previous visit  to Gujarat Modi once again  surprised  everyone by paying an unplanned visit to his mother who lives with his brother Pankaj at Raisan village on the outskirts of Gandhinagar.

The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Gujarat to attend various functions in a run up to his pet biennial investors' meet - Vibrant Summit.

"Skipped Yoga & went to meet mother, before dawn had breakfast with her. It was great spending time together," tweeted Modi before he head towards venue of Vibrant Gujarat - Mahatma Mandir - to have a series of meetings with several heads of state who have come to Gujarat's capital to attend eighth edition of Vibrant Gujarat.

Heeraben, the 97-year-old mother of Prime Minister, lives with Modi's younger brother Pankaj Modi and Prime Minister generally makes it a point to visit her whenever he is near the state capital on his official visits.

This is the 10th visit by Modi to the state since he took over as Prime Minister in May 2014.
