PM has given blow to black market, fake currency: Rajnath

By doing away with currency notes of `1,000 and `500, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dealt a body blow to the flow of counterfeit currency and black money in the Indian economy.

This was stated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at a public meeting at Town Polytechnic ground of Ballia while flagging off the next phase of Parivartan Yatra on Wednesday.

Defending the PM’s decision, the Union Minister said that it is a bold decision taken in the right direction and the country has emerged as a strong economic power in the world.

“Some people may face inconvenience but it was necessary to boost the country’s economy. While taking over the reins, PM Narendra Modi had said that his Government would work for the poor and now it has become evident that each Government decision is being taken keeping the welfare of the poor in mind. The poor should now start realising the benefits of Central schemes,” said the Union Home Minister.

Quoting former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee that “we could change out friends but not our neighbours,” Singh said that the PM made serious attempts to improve ties with Pakistan but the latter cheated us like it cheated Vajpayee. “We would give befitting reply to every Pakistani attack,” he stressed. Expressing hope that Parivartan Yatra would make a wave in favour of the BJP ahead of UP Assembly polls, Singh exhorted the locals to vote for the pary which was pro-people.
