Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and its allies for large-scale corruption in the country and cautioned people against the coalition, which he said will destroy the State just like it did before the BJP came in full majority here.
The Prime Minister addressed two back-to-back rallies in Hazaribag and Bokaro on Monday ahead of the third phase of polls on December 12.
Addressing a huge gathering in Hazaribag, Modi said the world is looking up to India today and it is not because of him being the Prime Minister, but because the people of the country gave a stable and strong Government at the Centre. Asking people to give similar status to the Jharkhand in the nation, the PM urged the voters to again give a full majority Government in the State.
Modi said the Congress delayed Ram Janmabhoomi issue for political gains for decades, but the decision came when BJP Government at the Centre expedited the matter. He added separate Jharkhand State was also carved by the then BJP Government, while the Congress delayed the issue for political benefits.
He also credited Constitutional status to the OBC Commission to the BJP Government and 10 per cent reservation to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of society by his Government.
The PM gave example of Karnataka and said people of South have given a tight slap on the face of oppressors by giving 12 out of 15 seats to the BJP in the bypolls. “People have voted for us in those constituencies also where we have never won in the past. They have voted for stability and development,” the Prime Minister said.
“The truth of the Congress also has to be remembered by the people of Jharkhand. The Congress never lived up to the alliance’s trust. It has been using alliances and mandates for its own purposes, and then uses it as a puppet of its allies for its own sake, which results in instability and uncertainty, and the entire State drowns in buying and selling. This should not happen in Jharkhand. A stable Government must be made so that women, youth, farmers and poor get the benefits of welfare schemes for five years. Karnataka’s results should be remembered across the country. It’s a strong message for leaders doing messy politics. It is necessary to defeat each candidate of Congress and its allies in Jharkhand,” said the PM.
Later, holding a rally in Bokaro, Modi appealed to the masses to beware of the alliance parties that are “conspiring to again loot” the State. He alleged that Congress and its alliance are against the creation of employment as their Government runs the industry of naxalism and violence.
Attacking the Opposition JMM-Congress alliance in Jharkhand, the PM alleged that alliance followed the politics of deception, while the BJP believes in serving people with hard work.
“Rampant corruption and political instability were the mark of the alliance government (JMM-Congress) in the past. The State was always in news for wrong reasons, instability and corruption in that tenure,” Modi said.
He added, now Jharkhand turns to 19 (years) and next five years (when it would turn to 25) is a very crucial period for the development of the State. “So please vote for BJP not only for MLA or CM but play a role as a guardian for the holistic development and to bring the change that Jharkhand deserves,” Modi urged.
At the rally, Modi spoke extensively about steps taken by his Government for the development of the nation and uplift of the masses. “Jharkhand will soon be developed as a tourism hub. Our priority is to increase tourism-based employment in the State. Very soon two floating solar power units one at Dhurwa dam and another is at Gatelsut Dam will come up in Jharkhand,” he said.
The PM also thanked voters for faith in democracy and for heavy turnout in the first and second phases of poll.
