A complaint has been filed against cinestar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishekh Bachchan in Ghaziabad court under Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, 1971 and Indian Flag code-2002.
The complainant Chetan Dhiman, in his complaint before the local court of judicial magistrate, stated that when India won a cricket match against Pakistan on 15 February, 2015, the cinestar and his son were seen covering their bodies by the National Flag in a haphazard manner which resulted in the insult of the nation.
The lawyer for the complainant Sanjeev Sharma said that on April 23, the complainant along with his friends Alok Shishodia, Bhupendra Tyagi, Rashmi Chaudhary, Binder Kumar and Alok Shishodia saw the megastar wearing National Flag in an insulting manner.
He added that the complainant and his friends were hurt by their act. "Being associated with a NGO-MITRA, he has full faith in the Constitution of India," he added.
"This act of the cinestar and his son has degraded the reputation of the nation. Their act is covered under Section (2) of the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, 1971 and Indian Flag Code, 2002," the lawyer stated.
Justifying filing the application, the lawyer stated that on May 4, 2015, he had requested the Ghaziabad SSP to initiate legal action against the duo but since the police have not initiated any legal action, he has filed this complaint before this court, stated the lawyer in complaint.
