PK Das, a Gujarat cadre IAS officer of the 1965 batch, passed away at a hospital in Gandhinagar on January 6. He served as the first Chief Information Commissioner of Gujarat in 2005-06.
Condoling his death, PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, described it as yet another personal loss for him after the recent demise of his batchmate Dr. Manjula Subramaniyam just a few days back.
Dr. Mishra remembered calling on Dr. Das during his training days when the latter served as the Collector of Ahmedabad and his various interactions with him over the last five decades.
