In a shocking incident in Gurugram's civil lines area, a 36-year-old woman was attacked and repeatedly bitten by a Pitbull dog for at least half an hour, causing serious injuries on her neck and all across the body.
The instance occurred in the posh civil lines area around 7 am on Thursday, the police said.
The victim has been identified as Munni, a native of West Bengal, who lived with her three kids and husband, in a rented accommodation near a dam in the civil lines area of Gurugram. The complainant, Beauty, sister-in-law, of the victim, told the police that the duo are domestic helpers. She along with Munni were on their way to work on Thursday morning around 7 am when they reached Krishna Mansion building opposite PWD rest house on the civil lines road.
She alleged that the owners of the dog - a man and a woman - intentionally left their dog loose and then attacked Munni.
"The dog first grabbed Munni's neck from behind and later the dog bit her all across the body.
I escaped unhurt as I was behind Munni. The duo owner was watching the entire incident but did not offer any help. Due to the attack, Munni fell unconscious. She is now admitted to a Delhi hospital in a critical condition," Beauty said. However, during the preliminary investigation, the police identified the dog owner as Nitu Chikara, a resident of the civil lines area of Gurugram.
