In a move aimed at uplifting the quality of education in the State, the BJP-led Assam Government has decided to scrutinise the Ph D certificates of college teachers in the State.
Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this at the Assam legislative assembly on Friday. Sarma said his today while taking part on discussion on speaker’s initiative on education. “There are reports that college teachers have Ph. D certificates from universities like Singhania university or Magadh Universities, the credentials of which are doubtful,” said Sarma while adding that certificates of those universities with doubtful credentials will not be accepted.
“We are going to scrutinize those certificates to prove their authenticity. Those Ph. D certificates which are from universities other than Central universities or Assam state universities, will be called for scrutiny,” he said.
