Petrol pump: BPCl notice to lalu's son

Published on:

In yet another big blow to RJD chief lalu Prasad and his family, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation limited (BPCl) has served a notice to his elder son and Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who was granted dealership some five years ago by the petroleum company. The company got the complaint that the land which Yadav claimed as his own for opening the petrol pump outlet was not his.

The allotment for the retail outlet had been made by the end of 2011, but the outlet was commissioned in February this year. The notice said, “In your application, you have revealed that you have the required land for setting the retail outlet at Chitkohra in Patna, measuring 43.535 decimal of land owned by M/s A K Infosystem Private limited. You have produced a registered lease deed in favour of your brother Tejashwi Prasad executed by the owner of the land and also produced two MoUs executed in your favour by your brother and the said landowner.”

The notice mentioned a complaint by one Chandrashekhar alleging that Tej Pratap falsely declared that he had land for retail outlet whereas the real owner of the land was M/s Infosystem who had never given lease of land to anybody.

The petroleum company also observed that Tej Pratap is at present discharging the duty of Minister for Health, Minor Water Resources, Environment and Forest of Bihar which may suggest that he is not in a position to carry out the obligations contained in the agreement.

The BPCl has given 15 days time to Tej Pratap to exp-lain his position and intimated why action should not be taken against him including termination of the dealership.
