It’s as ironic as it gets. In 2009, in his second term, it was pepper sprayer lagadapati Rajagopal — the richest MP from Andhra Pradesh — who had successfully introduced a Private Members Bill in the lok Sabha to deal with disruptions by Parliamentarians and even suggested a mechanism to penalise them.
His ‘The Disruption of Proceedings of Parliament (Disentitlement of Daily Allowance to Members and Termination of Membership) Bill, 2009’ proposed that if a member or a group of them disrupts the house for the third time during the same Session, the House may resolve to terminate the membership of such a member or a group of members, as the case may be.
Rajagopal along with five others was a couple of days ago expelled from Congress, he was suspended from the lok Sabha from remaining period of the session. Rajagopal, an eminent industrialist and a qualified Mechanical Engineer, had then also hogged limelight for Rs 299-crore assets which declared in his electoral affidavit.
