PCC chiefs told to expel leaders for anti-party acts

Published on:

With a poll debacle looming large, the Congress has asked all the State Congress units to start identifying all those who were involved in anti-party activities, and make dossiers on them in the run-up to the lok Sabha elections. AICC sources said that this is a step with the party's perception that the country will not see a stable Government next and thus it needs to start preparation either for a mid-term or the 2019 general elections.

A senior AICC functionary told The Pioneer that the party is taking stock of the situation in the States and constituencies where polls have already been concluded and several instances of ‘indifferences’ have been found where otherwise the show could have been better.

The presidents of the district and block Congress committees have been asked to send their reports about the electioneering, particularly about the rank and file who did not work for the party or who worked sincerely. The PCC chiefs have been directed to immediately expel the leaders irrespective of his high profile status, other office bearers or members from the party for anti-party activities and working against the party’s contestants during the elections.
