Pawan Kalyan too turns critic of Modi regime on demonetisation

The scrapping of the big currency has come under sharp criticism from the popular films star turned politician Pawan Kalyan who said that the Centre had made the move without any planning and preparation.

In a series of tweet messages posted on Sunday the actor came down heavily on Narendra Modi regime saying the Government should tell the people how much new currency was available now.

Pawan Kalyan, who had extensively campaigned for the TDP-BJP alliance in Andhra Pradesh in 2014 polls rued that the haphazard action had created serious problems for the ordinary people. He said that the Government should have undertaken an elaborate exercise before resorting to the demonetisation.

“Government has to spell out the position of actual new currency position. Rural economy and unorganised urban market is to be taken care. Senior citizens are to be taken care and Government should take measure to stop unrest in public”, he wrote on his Twitter handle.

“It is evident from the current situation that Government had not done enough exercise”, he said.

In obvious reference to the Government’s argument that it had to maintain secrecy over the plans of demonetisation, the actor said, “Government can not hide (for) long time under the shade of maintain secrecy”.

This is second time that the Pawan Kalyan has strongly criticised the Modi Government on an issue of public concern. He has already launched a blistering campaign against the Modi Government at the Center and Telugu Desam Government in the State over their failure to grant the Special Category status to the truncated State of Andhra Pradesh.
