Popular Telugu film star Pavan Kalyan launched his political party “Jana Sena” with a call to the entire nation to wipe out Congress party and save the country.
In what appeared to be the replica of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s style, the actor seethed with anger against the Congress leadership for its leadership in dividing Andhra Pradesh and said that he will ensure that the Congress party does not win a single seat. “I will personally fight for it,” he said. In his two-hour-long address, shown live my by many Telugu news channels, Pavan Kalyan primarily targeted the Congress leadership and named Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as the villain.
Much to the disappointment of his thousands of fan Pavan Kalyan did not make any announcement of his party contesting in the upcoming elections. “We will contest but I am not clear whether to contest this or the next elections. My top priority is to build the party,” he said. Significantly, he said he was ready to talk to any party except Congress to ensure that both the States of Telangana and Seemandhra get stable Governments, which work, for the development and well being of the common people. “I am ready even to talk to the Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
Another significant aspect was that Pavan Kalyan did not make a single critical reference either to the BJP or Narendar Modi. Senior BJP leader from the state M Venkaiah Naidu was the only leader from the party who came under sarcastic attack from him for demanding thousand crore for Seemandhra capital. However, his most acidic attack was reserved for the Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members. On the demand of KCR’s daughter Kavita that Pavan Kalyan should tender an apology to the people of Telangana, he said, “It is my Telangana, it is people are my people whom I love. Whether I should apologise to them or not has nothing to do or your family”, he said.
He also warned the politicians again raking up his personal life saying if anyone interferes in his personal life he will be paid in the same coin. Giving the reasons for launching the new p arty he said it would work for equality of all before the law, irrespective of their position. He also promised to uproot the system of black marketing, safety of women and better health care for the people at par with the corporate hospital. “I have already told you that this is going to be a long haul. This party is not being formed for power or posts”, he said.
