Even in writing his apology letter to his party, Trinamool MP Tapas Paul has told a big lie apparently to dilute the ‘criminal element’ in his hate speech at a public meeting in Nadia district.
While he said in his letter, which has been made public to the media, that he made the speech long ago during his election campaign in front of villagers at Chowmaha and Gopinathpur where he made such speeches, and he uttered those dirty words on June 14.“He had come here to attend the funeral of four party workers who were killed in a motor accident. At an impromptu meeting he threatened the villagers with murder and rape. From here he went to Gopinathpur where he asked his party men to slit the throats of the CPI(M) workers,” said Nandar Sheikh a local.
“This is not knew for Tapas Paul. He is used to making such speeches. He made such speeches during the elections also,” another grocer said.Meanwhile, Somit Sanyal a right activist on Wednesday filed a PIl against Paul making both the State Government and the Election Commission a party to it.
