During an election rally of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, several females belonging to Patidar community staged demonstrations in front of Patel while she was campaigning in Mahesana district on Wednesday.
Patel was on poll campaign ahead of the second phase of local body elections slated on Sunday.
The reaction of the Patidar community came following the Gujarat CM’s remark during an election rally couple of days before that agitating Patidars would not get reservation under OBC category.
In order to disperse agitating demonstrators police had to resort to mild lathicharge. According to sources there were around 500 people, majority of them women who staged demonstration.
