From day one of her entry into politics through the BJP, former IPS officer has been projecting herself as the party’s chief ministerial candidate even as the move ruffled a few feathers within the State unit of the party. For her, the announcement by the BJP top leadership on Monday did not come as a surprise. As she claims her plans for Delhi till 2020 is all chalked out. Speaking to The Pioneer, Bedi said after her 6-P formula, she has now formulated a '5-S' strategy towards developing the national Capital. She thanked the top party leadership for making her the CM candidate.
Her idea is to bring alignment between the Centre and the State and thereby make Delhi a protest free city. "It pains to see that people associate Jantar Mantar with protests and not for the historical value it has. Ramlila Maidan has to calm down. I have formulated Five-S for Delhi — Saaksher, Swasth, Sakshum, Surakshit and Sanskari which mean being literate, healthy, capable, secure, and ethical,” she said.
The first woman IPS officer joined the party doing her homework about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and governance in India for several years. “I will be happy to accept whatever position the party assigns me,” she said. While talking about dissidence within the State unit she dismissed it as ‘exaggerated’ reports of brewing resentment within it over her possible projection as the party’s chief ministerial candidate.
