A couple in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh sold their five-month-old baby to pay their debts and later filed a missing FIR in a bid to evade queries about the child’s sudden disappearance, police said on Wednesday. Khalid and his wife Saeeda, who live in shanties of Babu Purva colony, had complained to Kanpur SSP Shalabh Mathur that their baby, youngest of their five children, was abducted while he was playing outside their house on July 20, they said.
